On this Labor Day weekend many think of the end of Summer, the beginning of Fall and, especially, the start of school for many young children and college students. It is therefore fitting to share some insights on the state of work for those who graduated in June and the hopes for work once college is finished for those going into their senior year and perhaps even junior year of college.

Questions arise such as, “Will I get a job?” not necessarily “Will I get a great job?” Is there hope? We think so–at least we know there are tools to use that can help. That’s why I connected with John Fowler, a twenty-nine, recently turned thirty year old to partner with me to get a book out that I think will be of help.

It’s called “Graduate to LinkedIn: Build Your Lifetime Career Support Network Now.” Anyone who has a college student or graduate who wants to get an edge in the job market can contact us to ask for a preview of the book. We also have a Facebook Fan Page and a Twitter account to get the ongoing insights we have about LinkedIn.

Once the full book comes out the 50% of the proceeds I get will go directly to an initiative I created a year ago called “Leadership 20-29.” It’s to help 20-29 year old young people get smarter and better starts in their careers. We want to help and we know this book will make a big difference. Meanwhile, Happy Labor Day!
